I have more than twenty years of experience in child, youth, family and relationship counselling. I‘ve worked in private practice, at mental health agencies, and in school settings. During my career, I’ve led therapy and educational groups for young children, teens, and adults. I’ve also worked many years as a clinical supervisor and manager in mental health agencies. As a mental health practitioner in the United States, I provided crisis intervention on phone help lines, in emergency rooms, and in prison settings. In Nelson, I also provided counselling and long-term care planning through the Home and Community Care agency.

I live, work, and play in Nelson, BC, in the heart of the West Kootenay Mountain region. I’ve also had the privilege of living in the U.S., the U.K. and Sweden, and learning from people of many different backgrounds.
My family enjoys the community, culture, and natural surroundings that are unique to Nelson. Opening my Nelson counselling practice has helped me to feel more a part of this town and the community of wonderful people who live here.
Skiing, hiking, biking, and painting are all passions outside of my work. Teaching skiing as a young adult was the first time that I discovered the joy of helping people achieve their goals – and experience the exuberance of life more fully.
My partner and I have been together for over twenty-seven years. We’ve skied the backcountry and mountain biked together, enjoying our shared passions for the outdoors. When our daughter came along, we decided that the best place to make a home for her was in Nelson, BC in this beautiful land called the Kootenays.
